Within this workshop we will be learning the ins and outs of what SMART Notebook, SMART board, SMART exchange and SMART tables have to offer teachers from Pre-kindergarten to 1st grade. We will also dig deeper into what SMART has to offer and how to create different types of pages for teachers to utilize within their classroom. We will also learn to create a home page where students can go to that will take them to educational websites to help promote the skills they need to practice at school on their own time.
Your Instructor
My name is Melanie Scott. I have my degree in Early Childhood Education and taught in Charles County Public Schools as a Kindergarten teacher for 2 years and have been teaching Pre-Kindergarten for the last 7 years. I have always believed in integrating technology to help support our teaching and our student's ability to learn. I have been pursing my Masters through the University of Maryland University College in Instructional Technology. Through this college experience I have learned how technology being implemented is even more important then I would have thought in the new media driven world our students live and have grown up in. I am also a part of my school's technology team where we work and update different types of software and hardware (like our I Pad carts).
I hope you enjoy taking this ride with me and take with you as much knowledge as you can to be able to take back with you and make you a stronger teacher then you were before.
